The smart grid uses its own formula for the DiNapoli stochastic and it is not the same as the standard stochastic, you have a very high cross-over setting, use 1-10, a high setting will provide a bullish or bearish signal in the opposite direction. I set the crossover distance to zero and ran a backtest the multi-timeframe DiNapoli indicator was correct for 1 hour and daily.
In addition to its own formula the logic for the DiNapoli indicators is as follows:
- if the last value > signal value and the signal is rising apply the smooth curve formula
- if the last value < signal value and the signal is falling apply the smooth curve formula
