Smart Grid. Optimization failure

I have tried to optimize the cBot Smart Grid (trial version) it makes between 400 and 500 passes and they all give 0, it does not open positions. However, in backtesting, it does open positions correctly. The settings I use for optimization are the same as those in your last video. I have tried the same configuration on a friend's computer who also has the trial version and it works correctly. Could it be due to incompatibility with Win 11? Do I need to download the DiNapoly indicator as well? I can't think of what else to try. I have checked all the parameters several times and I can't get it to work. can you help me with this? Hi Mike,

Yes, I have reviewed that video several times. I am completely sure that all the parameters are configured as samples in that video. The backtest works fine, but the optimization always gives me a value of 0 on every pass it makes. I am attaching screenshots so you can check it.

I have not installed the DiNapoly indicator. I understand that everything is integrated into the cBot. Is this correct or do I have to install it separately?

Strangely, you are getting these results, yes, I would install all the indicators that are required for the cBot, you will need them anyway to analyse the trades.

You could also run a backtest and also run the cBot to see what it shows in the cBot log, check this for errors.

make sure you have also activated the trial license key by starting the cBot.

When trying to register the trial version I get a message saying that the trial version has expired. I don't know if this is a bug, I downloaded the product two days ago. Is this why I have problems with optimization?

Even though the activation sign is on the screen, the cBot does the backtesting, opens and closes operations and records them. But with the same parameters it does not do the optimization. I don't know, it seems very strange to me. I'm trying it on a new laptop. I'm thinking about formatting it and installing everything from the factory again, to rule out any errors occurring when installing the programs for the first time.

It seems that the reason you cannot optimise is that the trial license has expired, you do not need to uninstall any software, instead, just install the trial on a new PC for another 14 days.

But this PC is new and I downloaded the cBot on Tuesday, January 23rd. There's no way the trial version has expired, it's only been two days since I downloaded it

Can you share your license key here, so I can investigate, don't worry, nobody can use it.

Unfortunately not :( I reinstalled ctrader and the cBot to see if it worked and now, when I go to do the backtest, I don't get the activation sign and it doesn't do anything either, it just stops. To the screenshots I took to post incident I deleted their license for security reasons, I didn't know if it was a private number. Only one of the screenshots preserves part of the number, although I think it will not be enough. Is there any other place where I can see the license? Your website tells me I don't have any registered license.

Just drag the window out of the way to see the window beneath it with the license key.

The trial license has expired, and nothing will work.

Sorry, in the backtest I had visual mode disabled and that's why I couldn't see the cBot license number. The same thing happened to me with the cBot Neptune. I just installed it and it tells me that the trial period has expired. I attach screenshots below

I don't know if there is something within the cTrader settings or on my own laptop that I need to change. Can you tell me something about this? I use windows 11 pro and the laptop is a Intel I9 13th with 32Gb of RAM, geforce RTX4060. I think I shouldn't have any problems...

Each license key is unique to your computer, the license system rarely will create a key that someone else is using, in your case these keys are assigned to other customers. In nearly 9 years this has not happened, but it could happen if your PC hardware is identical to another computer.

Hi Mike, I've been researching. I have encountered the following errors when trying to optimize the two cBots (Neptune and Smart Grid). I have also found a case identical to mine on the cTrader forum. It seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 11 pro version 23h2. Following the thread on this forum, they do not provide a solution to the problem. I don't know if anything can be done about it. If necessary, I will install an older version of Windows to see if the problem is solved.

This should have been fixed in cTrader 4.8.3, you need to contact Spotware Support about this.

The problem is with the trading platform and not the operating system, report this and they should fix it.
