Nope, nothing... Sure, now it asks for full access, but... No pop-up, no log warning, no Telegram message.
I don't understand.

It's either the Trial version or something on my end.
It just doesn't "detect" the correct date and time, probably...

In the meantime, if anyone else can confirm that the bot works with different regional settings (i.e. not American)... It could be a step forward! Until I can test it myself. Because I'm 99% we have to blame the trial version and/or regional settings.

Our trading group in the UK have been using the news manager for many years with no problems if that helps, the trial is identical to the paid one. What is your regional settings, where are you from?

Italian. For example, our decimal separator is a comma. And, of course, dates are formatted differently. The unusual thing is that this is the only bot that gives me feedback on dates in the log, and they are in Italian.

Anyway, I'm going to change the Windows settings on the VPS, put everything in English and see if this gets sorted later today.

It's a shame, because I find the idea behind the new manager very interesting.

I give up, News Manager doesn't seem to like me...

It doesn't even work with American regional settings. Maybe I'll buy it in the future and have better luck with the full version, but at the moment I have to concentrate on something else.

@Mike: what's the version number for the updated release you were talking earlier? 2.1.1 seems to be the OLD version, not the updated one. "Updated on 12/02/2024".

I am sorry you still do not have it working, the correct version is 2.1.1, I just checked and there have been 771 installs of this product and no reports of the news events not being picked up. We have added a new license system which caused an error with the access, but the core logic is the same. If another customer reports the same issue I will investigate again, but as far as I can see it is working fine, both trial and paid.

Yeah, it's probably just me, but... I don't understand what I'm doing wrong or what's wrong with my PC/VPS. 😅

By the way, @Mike... Is there a way to activate some type of "secret debug mode" with more output sent to the Log window, so I can help in some way debugging this? 😅

NOTHING. What amazes me is that it doesn't work either on my PC (Italian language, Italian regional settings) or on the VPS (English language, American or English regional settings).

It MUST have something to do with my licence and/or the most recent version! 😅

Should I still buy the News Manager if the trial version doesn't work for me and I can get a refund if it doesn't work, or should I avoid that because there's a good chance the paid version won't work if the trial version didn't work in the first place?

If the trial and paid versions are the same, then I cannot be the only one with this problem... It happens on both my desktop PC and my VPS, two completely different setups... 🤨

Anyway, the title is misleading and I'm sorry. The bots start correctly (you can read the whole discussion), but then nothing happens: no pop-ups, no feedback in the log, and of course no Telegram message. The problem is not strictly "no Telegram messages".

It's more like it doesn't "recognise" the event when the time comes.

I'll try the bot you suggested after my breakfast.

EDIT: yes, I receive the "Hello bot" message from the test bot. 👍

Silly question: can you confirm that it is THIS bot that sends pop-ups and telegram messages and not the others (using the news manager to check if there's a big event coming up)?

Or is this bot just "sharing" the pop-up choice (yes/no) and telegram data, and it's the other bot that's in charge of delivering information to me?

EDIT: actually not a silly question... I simply don't know because it never worked for me. 😅

It's working!

I get the pop-ups and the telegram messages! This topic can now be closed for real, even though we don't know if it was the free version OR some kind of bug fixed in the latest version.

Now I'm happy again. 😅

EDIT: the telegram message is truncated. It must be something related to "&" character in the message. 😅
