Hello

Please can you review the attached - it works in back testing but when running in Demo hasn't opened any trades?

The settings look acceptable; it opened 1600 trades in 1 year of historical data and 42 trades in 1 week. Please find out the average spread for your symbol from your broker, and make sure it's not above 3, which is your max spread.

Check your cBot log for any errors or messages showing why no trades opened.

Wait one week to see if any trades opened.

Last resort: contact Spotware Support.

Ok, i have logged a ticket with them but I checked the logs and there is many inputs of 'Equity drawdown target reached:'

That is set at 10%.

it is the same for EURUSD and there is logs with the same message but that opens trades.

I checked the code, and the message appears in the log when the equity target is reached, but no action is taken to stop orders from being opened. If the target is reached, I will add a change to suppress this message in the log.

If it opens trades with EURUSD and not GBPCAD, increase the max spread setting to 10 and share the log for GBPCAD after running it for 2 days.

You probably use a different starting capital on your backtest and demo account.

What is your demo account balance?

Backtest is always £1000 and my demo account currently has £957 in it

With a 1 week backtest and 1000 starting capital, there were 20+ trades and no drawdown warning message, the issue will be your demo capital, if not then there will be a bug with the platform, which I doubt.

I managed to get the same results as your demo by using tick data in the backtest.

Tick data includes the spread.

I'm a little confused so I'm the same as you, I ran a backtest with tickdata and it opened many orders.

I then run the same settings in Demo and its only opened one set of orders and its because I need a larger funds in my Demo account?

This Cbot always shows the Equity Drawdown on the screen and currently at 1.03

The backtest I ran showed the same error messages as your demo account, with multiple warnings about equity, so you will never get the same results. Read this article,

I reduced the fixed lots to 0.01 from 0.05, and the equity drawdown warnings disappeared.

I increased fixed lots to 0.05, the account balance to 10,000, and the equity drawdown warnings disappeared.

It seems the equity drawdown feature is activated even if it is turned off. I will get this fixed ASAP and publish an update.

I will take a look. I remember this has been reported, and the warning shows, but it does not stop the trades opening; this is not the issue; I will double-check.

If you are not getting the same results with a backtest compared to a demo account, it will not be the cBot, but one of the following.

Backtest settings not the same.
cBot parameter settings not the same.
Bug in the trading platform.

You will never get the same results, even 1 trade opening a few seconds earlier can affect the results.

I will publish a fix to suppress the warning, but this is not the issue as the warnings are on both backtest and demo

I just checked again, the drawdown stop feature will only stop the robot or close trades, it will not prevent trades from opening.
