cTrader Advanced Trade Protection

I want to test different tp / sl values and approaches by making the same trade (on the same symbol and timeframe) to multiple trading accounts (under the same login), and then run Advanced Trade Protection with different values across each trading account. Is this possible?

When I switch between accounts the parameters seem to copy across the parameters from the last account.

Also, is there way to configure and run Advance Trade Protection using the CLI?

In my view, this is a confusing feature of cTrader: it should not let you change brokers while a cBot is running. If you run the trade protection cBot and change brokers, your previous broker will no longer be managed, but your new broker will.

I recommend you open multiple instances of cTrader, one for each broker, and run the cBot on each copy of cTrader; they will all work in isolation.

Any of our products requiring licensing will not work on the cTrader cloud; we recommend using a Virtual Private Server.

Thanks Mike. I'm not wanting to change brokers, just 2 different trading accounts with the same broker. Do I still need to open two versions of cTrader, one for each account?

I've just got a VPS with Forex VPS. In your experience if I have a cBot running on the VPS and the machine restarts for whatever reason, do I have to go back in and restart the cBots? Is there a way I can script it so the cBots start automatically if there is a disruption?

Hi Rob, sorry, I meant trading accounts or brokers; if you switch accounts while your cBot is running, it will no longer manage your previous account and start managing your new account.

cTrader Algo has a feature to auto-restart cBots when cTrader restarts; you can set your VPS up so that when it restarts, cTrader starts and your cBots start. VPS servers usually have a 99.9% uptime and do not restart unless you restart them.

Thanks that makes sense. The link was really helpful. I have cTrader set up in multiple profiles mode on the VPS and can trade both accounts with auto starting cBots now.

Actually that might be a bit premature. The cBot started off running after the reboot then turned off. Is that because I am using a Trial version?

You will need to use the paid version to silently pass the license verification when the cBot starts, it will not auto start with a trial version.
