You can find the latest optimised settings for the cTrader Neptune Trading robots here, there are 10 files, one for each trading robot. The results below are based on an account size of 1000 for a backtest between 19.01.2021 to 19.01.2022 using FxPro, you can see the full statistics on each of the 10 trading robot product pages and the main page.

Small Account Size or Low Risk

If you have an account size below 1000 then you may want to use these settings as shown below, each one shows a drawdown of around 1% of your balance.

Hi Mike , just a couple of things noted when downloading the new Low Risk settings.

EURGBP file has a lot size of 0.05, the Medium one is only set to 0.04 so i am guessing this is an error. Not sure if this invalidates the whole file and needs redoing ?
USDJPY is missing a parameter ""ShowInfo = False",.. although the system warns of this and sets to false anyways.
USDCHF has its "IncludeNewsRelease" set to "True" when all the others default to "False"

@Mike#1714 USDJPY TRADING ROBOT 70% balance increase. 2.94% balance drawdown. 68 trades per year.

I backtested these settings on intervals of 30 days from the 19th of each month till the 19th of the next month starting on the 19th of January 2021 till the 19th of January 2022 and I found out that between the 19th of April and the 19th of May, the drawdown was actually 5.1% instead of what the statistics return 2.94% when backtested straight for the whole 365 days period.

This is quite inaccurate when using fixed lots risk per trade and the solution for that is to use equity percentage % based risk per trade.

What do you guys think?

Backtesting is only to give you confidence in using the system on fresh future data, if you choose a different start and end date the results will be very different as positions will open and close at different times.

Running backtests is one of the most important aspects of developing a trading system as it can help traders optimize and improve their strategies, find any technical or general flaws, as well as gain confidence in their strategy before applying it to real-world markets.

Regarding a dynamic position size based on equity, you can post a suggestion for us to review below.

Does the Neptune open a buy trade on the opposite direction while a sell one is currently active and vice versa with these recent settings?

If not then I might have an issue since I only trade in direction of alignes short. mid and long term trend and if the cbot doesnt open another trade to my prefered direction while there is already an open trade to the opposite then it might imply that the cbot underperforms

The system only opens trades in the direction of the trend dictated by the multiple indicators it uses.
