Moving average trading system not placing trades

Can you please help me with the above cbot. I am not sure why it misses trades when the 2 moving averages cross.

Hi, Steve,

I ran a backtest and the reason no further trades opened at the date you highlighted was that you had set the stop loss and take profit to zero, so there was no method to close the first trade, which stayed open.

Remember the BTCUSD spread on IC Markets is about 2500, your stop loss and take profit need to be at least x10 this value at 25000 pips, this would be like 10 pips on Forex.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for looking into this for me.

I have made the SL and TP as suggested and there are still trades not being taken.

In the below screen shot, the box on the left is the trade that was taken but there are 2 other crossovers that the trade didn't take.

Any further ideas?

This would be because only a single trade can be open at any time and if you look at the historical trades a trade opened on the 3rd of December and did not close until the 13th of December, so the possible new entry point of the 7th of December would not happen. this would also apply to the target of the 8th of December.

Try using version 1 of the strategy as this uses only 2 moving averages, instead of 4 and it is easier to use.

Also I get a lot of errors with the cbot relating to the trading start and stop time.

Hi, Steve,

Not sure if you read my last email but the robots are working correctly, only a single trade can be open at any time, in your first screenshot the arrow on the 21st of November will not open a trade because there was already a trade open on the 19th that did not close until the 29th.

Regarding the trading hours, you cannot enter 00:00 to 24:00, instead enter 00:01 to 23:59, this is because 00:00 is the same as 24:00, also this just means it will trade 24 hours a day, enter valid trading hours like 08:00 to 20:00

Thanks for confirming the time issue. I didn't think it mattered what time I put in if 'no' was selected.

In regards to the trades, I did read your last comment but I'm still unsure as to why it is missing trades.

In the below example, a trade was placed and closed on the 19th of November. The next trade was opened on the 29th November. The robot missed the crossover on the 21st November and 22nd November. Can you please explain this.

Further to my previous reply, I thought I'd do a live test.

The cbot didn't enter the trade when the fast MA crossed the slow MA. See below.

Hi, Steve,

In all the previous examples you posted for times when a trade should have opened, a single trade was already open.

If a trade is open and there is a signal to open another trade, it will not open.

Only a single trade can open at any time.

In your last example, you are showing a backtest result for AUDUSD, but the cBot settings you have provided are for BTCUSD

Please do not keep posting further examples, it is better that we answer a single report until you understand the problem, you have reported 3 issues in a row so far and we have investigated them and tried to explain why a trade did not open.

If you can stay with the last report you posted 3-days ago.

Maybe it would be best if we spoke now on the Telegram chat group, t would be quicker to explain the problem.

Hi Mike,

I understand that the cbot will not open another trade if there is a trade already opened. But I don't believe this is the case because the trade was closed.

In your explanation, the trade on the 3rd of December was closed on that day and not on the 13th December.

Is there a reason why the history says that the trade was closed (screen shot below) but you believe or the cbot believes it is still open?

I did raise this issue in the telegram but I was advised to log it in the forum.

Is there a way we can have a teams or skype meeting so you can walk me through it. I've watched the product video and I'm still missing on how it works. I tried to run it live and it didn't place a trade.

Sorry to take up your time in dealing with this. I just really want to get the cbot working as expected.

My explanation about trades being open was not for the last chart shot you shared, it was for a different chart for AUDUSD, maybe you are attaching incorrect screenshots.

Please understand you reported 3 previous possible issues and on each one, I tried to explain why a trade did not open, this is the 4th report you have posted, it would have been better to just stay with the 1st one so I can explain the problem to you, I double-checked and on each of the first 3 bug reports the system was working correctly as trade was already open.

I will investigate this last bug report for BTCUSD, but if I find nothing wrong with the system, you will need to chat with me on the Telegram group instead.

Before I can investigate you will need to send me the same symbol settings for BTCUSD as you are using and your cTrader UTC setting or your local timezone. Also, confirm that you are using version 2 of the MA crossover bot.

I think you are posting the wrong cbotset files and images, I just took the cBot file from your last posted 5-days ago and it had a stop loss of 10000000 and a take profit of 10000000, no trades closed, also the instance name was US500

Can you take some time and post again the correct screenshot and the correct cBotset,
