djsjross Hi - after optimisation whilst I expected a fixed volume for Buy orders, it is varying between the set amount and 1k as shown in the image. i would appreciate an understanding of why this is the case. I would like to stop it doing it. Thanks
Mike Hi, Ross, You should not be optimising the position size, leave this option unchecked and set at the lowest value for the symbol at 0.01 lots and when you finish optimising and select your optimised settings you can run a backtest and manually adjust the position size until you are happy with the drawdown and Net profit. You can find out which settings to optimise in the video below. https://clickalgo.com/ctrader-neptune-trading-optimization
djsjross Thanks for replying. Can you please let me know why the volume would be varying, even though the lots size is fixed. Are you suggesting that because I optimised with a volume range and allowed it to find a volume that meets my drawdown criteria that the bot is somehow now changing the volume per trade? seems strange to me. thanks
Mike You cannot have sell lots at 0, it will use the lowest value which is 1K volume for this symbol, also for the buy trades you have set the lots to 4.5 which is 450K volume. The volume for the buy and sell trades are independent.
djsjross Sorry one more question - is there a way in cTrader History to distinguish between which bot has made the trade. Example if I am running a Neptune bot and a Grid bot and say a MA strategy bot concurrently I would like to be able to see in the history for the same currency pair which bot actioned. Is it possible to add a column? appreciate a response. This question is not related to the original post, it has been moved to general automate cBots
