cTrader News Manager VPS Error

I have news manager pro, I have installed it on my VPS(tradingfxvps) and when I try and load the csv file from my fx book it comes up with the following error. I presume this is because the VPS is running windows server 2012. I have googled about and cannot locate what download I may need to fix this problem, has anyone had the same issue and can guide me in what to do?

SOLUTION

This error has happened because you need to install the Microsoft Database Engine 2010 Redistributable which is needed to read the Excel news files, you can find more information on the News Manager Professional page under loading news events.

Download and install
This download will install a set of components that can be used to facilitate the transfer of data between 2010 Microsoft Office System files and non-Microsoft Office applications.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply much appreciated. I have now installed file successfully on the VPS but it still comes up with the same message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, also uninstalled and reinstalled news manager and I have saved another csv file from myfxbook, all to no avail. still same message. I have also read the article on news manager install(that I should have looked at in the first place)

Have you tried rebooting the PC?
Also, did you install the 32-bit version?

If you are using one of our automated trading systems, I advise using the following news manager instead.

The pro version is for Windows Desktop, not advised for Windows Server.

Hi Paul,

Yes I did install 32 bit version. The trading systems I am using on the VPS is smart grid, neptune & cross over. I already have forex news manager I think in my downloads section so I can try that instead of pro. Leave it with me and I'll try a few things. If pro is no good to me could I have a refund? No money was exchanged as I got the 50% coupon code as I run guardian and Sophia gave me a gift card when I signed up with forexVPS through you, so all I would need is a new £10.00 gift card and that would refund what it cost me. But let me have a look and I will come back to you, appreciate your support. Thanks Simon

The standard news manager is the best product for the smart grid, the pro version is for manual trading on your PC.

You can request a refund on the pro version through your account.
