visited my vps, and saw ctrader is occupying over 1600 mb of memory, can you please clarify what the memory management tool helped in?

yes, this is correct, look at the process above algohost, the new version of cTrader now has two separate processes one for the charting and one to run algos, the memory manager will now clear the process that runs your cBots only, your charting etc is using all your memory, try removing indicators and minimise the charts when not in use.

If you had run a backtest or optimise previously, restart cTrader.

Hi Mike,

I've noticed that, unfortunatelly, almost all the memory usage is taken by the main process and not by the algohost.
Although this high memory usage seems to be related to the cBots, it is maily reflected on cTrader main process (for instance: 3Gb vs 100Mb). I don't really know why.

This makes this tool useless for the purpose as it only acts over the algohost process.

I've also noticed that RAM usage on cTrader keeps increading over time even without any activity.

Any tips?

Hi, the latest versions of cTrader changed how the memory is allocated for cBots and indicators, if you are experiencing memory creep or an increase in memory usage then this will either be an issue with the ctrader platform itself or a badly written indicator or cbot.

I have opened this post as a bug report and I will investigate the memory manager tool to make sure it is still working correctly with the new update.

Please note there have been many reports of excessive memory on the latest version, Spotware will correct this.

I have just published an update to version 2.0, this will show all the algohost.framework processes memory usage and also clear them, it does not show the cTrader memory usage or clear the platform memory.

cTrader Desktop now isolates the memory process of each cBot or indicator running, this prevents rogue algos crashing or slowing down cTrader and the PC, when you use the memory manager you will be able to make sure that your cBots do not consume too much memory due to poor implementation.

Existing customers can download the update from the ClickAlgo account.

Yes, I hope that Spotware will solve this issue soon.
If my cBots are really using a lot of memory, I hope that, in the future, this will recflected on the algohost process and not on the main process, so that Memory Management Tool can fulfill its purpose.

Btw, I am wondering if I am the only who have noticed that main process is allocating memory from cBots.
Did you already get any report on this or, have you also noticed this yourself?

cTrader cBots should only use the algohost and not the main cTrader process, if this is not happening you need to contact Spotware directly.

In fact, I see an increase in cTrader main process when running cBots, however, I think this was not supposed to happen.
So far, this has been like an endless discussion without a solution.
