cTrader Smart Grid No Trades Opening

Hello
I run the smart grid system on my VPS with tested parameters.
It doesn't open any trades on EURUSD which is odd because there were big news events this week.
Is it because of the licensing? I registered the product for the VPS. It should work on all of my accounts though. Right?

Hi, Patrik,

You need to optimise your settings and not rely on any test settings. The product does not open trades due to news events, you can run a 1 year backtest to see if any trades opened, and count the number of trades, if it is not many then with your settings there will be periods of no trades.

It would help if you shared your cBot settings here as a file uploaded.

It looks like you may not have registered the product on your VPS or you did not click on the register button, your cBot log should look like the image below.

What information are you referring to, if it is your cBot settings, everyone can see them.

Copied the wrong log. The verification worked. Will add my parameters (approx 300 trades a year in backtesting)

I believe I just didn't get any trades this week because of the way the indicator works... Maybe this past week was a "no trade"-week

Thank you, I just ran a backtest from 22.08 to 29.08 (1 week) using tick data and there were no trades, this is normal for trend-based strategies, if your test showed 300 trades in 1 year, these trades were when there was a strong trend and signal to buy or sell, the last week there were no signals to enter a trade. If you want more trades you can always adjust the settings, but more trades do not equal more profit.

I have one more question: The max open trades (max losing trades) parameter; Is it for the entire account or only the instance (e.g. EURUSD). If I run a second instance (AUDUSD) or open trades manually, will it close other trades also?

The max open trades feature should be per currency pair.
